CH07 Worm Gearbox

Worm Gearboxes

CH07 worm gearbox with aluminium housing, with bolt-on output flange executions (F and FC — see the dimension drawings) and a standard IEC motor input — no coupling or adaptor needed: the motor bolts straight on. Fits IEC 71 or 80 or 90 or 100 motors (B5 or B14 flange), recommended motors up to 3 kW.

Supplied without motor. You are choosing the gearbox only — ask us to quote a suitable motor together with it if you'd like both.

How to pick from the table: with a standard 4-pole motor (1400 r/min), the ratio sets the output speed — e.g. ratio 7:1 gives 200 r/min at the output shaft. Choose the row whose output speed and torque match your application, then the flange that matches your motor (the frame size and shaft diameter are on the motor's nameplate). The Motor column lists the motors that fit that row — pick yours and the output torque and service factor update to match. More in the Selection Guide tab below.

Typical applications: conveyor systems, OEM machinery, automation and robotics, agricultural and greenhouse equipment.

Product Information

Motor pole count

All table figures assume a 4-pole motor (1400 r/min input) — the standard choice for most applications. A 2-pole motor (2800 r/min) doubles the output speed and a 6-pole motor (900 r/min) reduces it, and the power and torque ratings change with them — if you're running anything other than 4-pole, contact us and we'll size it for you.

Service factor — the number that decides how long your gearbox lives

It's the safety margin between what the gearbox can handle and what the motor asks of it: 1.0 means the gearbox works exactly at its rated limit; higher means reserve capacity — a cooler, quieter drive and a much longer life. As a guide: smooth, steady loads (light conveyors, centrifugal pumps) are fine near 1.0; moderate loads (heavier conveyors, packing machines) deserve 1.3 or more; heavy duty (mixers, bucket elevators, frequent starts, long running hours) should sit at 1.5–2.0.

If the service factor turns red after you pick a motor, that combination is below 1.0 — the motor can overload the gearbox in continuous use. It may be acceptable for light, intermittent duty, but for anything continuous choose a smaller motor, a different ratio, or the next gearbox size up — or ask us and we'll size it with you.
