CHME 110 Worm Gearbox with Motor Flange and Free Input Shaft (Ø42 mm output shaft)

Worm Gearboxes

CHME 110 — the CHM worm gearbox with its IEC motor flange plus a free input shaft end on the opposite side — for a hand wheel, an encoder, a brake or a second drive on the input. Cast iron housing, hollow output shaft with 42 mm bore, keyed; optional output flanges (the F executions on the dimension drawing). Input shaft Ø28 j6 × 60 mm with M10 centre thread, key 8 mm (dimensions on the input-shaft sheet; everything else as the CHM 110). Supplied for the B3 mounting position — tell us if you need a different orientation (see the mounting-position drawing). Lubricated with mineral oil; the oil quantity is set for the mounting position, so the orientation matters when ordering.

Supplied without motor. Fits IEC 90 or 100 or 112 or 132 motors (B5 or B14 flange as the CHM 110).

How to pick from the table: with a standard 4-pole motor (1400 r/min) the ratio sets the output speed. Choose the row whose output speed and torque match your application, then the flange that matches your motor. The Motor column lists the motors that fit that row — pick yours and the output torque and service factor update to match. More in the Selection Guide tab below.

Product Information

Motor pole count

All table figures assume a 4-pole motor (1400 r/min input) — the standard choice for most applications. A 2-pole motor (2800 r/min) doubles the output speed and a 6-pole motor (900 r/min) reduces it, and the power and torque ratings change with them — if you're running anything other than 4-pole, contact us and we'll size it for you.

Service factor — the number that decides how long your gearbox lives

It's the safety margin between what the gearbox can handle and what the drive asks of it: 1.0 means the gearbox works exactly at its rated limit; higher means reserve capacity — a cooler, quieter drive and a much longer life. As a guide: smooth, steady loads (light conveyors, centrifugal pumps) are fine near 1.0; moderate loads (heavier conveyors, packing machines) deserve 1.3 or more; heavy duty (mixers, bucket elevators, frequent starts, long running hours) should sit at 1.5–2.0.

If the service factor turns red after you pick a motor, that combination is below 1.0 — the motor can overload the gearbox in continuous use. It may be acceptable for light, intermittent duty, but for anything continuous choose a smaller motor, a different ratio, or the next gearbox size up — or ask us and we'll size it with you.
