CHMRE 150 Worm Gearbox with Double Input Shaft (Ø50 mm output shaft)

Worm Gearboxes

CHMRE 150 — the CHM worm gearbox with a free input shaft on both sides and no motor flange — for drives that take power in on one side and pass it through on the other. Cast iron housing, hollow output shaft with 50 mm bore, keyed; optional output flanges (the F executions on the dimension drawing). Input shaft Ø35 j6 × 80 mm with M12 centre thread, key 10 mm (dimensions on the input-shaft sheet; everything else as the CHM 150). Supplied for the B3 mounting position — tell us if you need a different orientation (see the mounting-position drawing). Lubricated with mineral oil; the oil quantity is set for the mounting position, so the orientation matters when ordering.

How to pick from the table: the figures are for a 1400 r/min input (a 4-pole motor's speed) — the ratio sets the output speed, P1 is the input power the catalogue rates the row at and the service factor is the margin at that power. Drive the input shaft slower or faster and the output speed scales with it; ask us to check the rating if your input speed differs.

Product Information

Reading the table

Each row is one ratio: output speed at 1400 r/min in, the rated input power P1, the output torque at that power and the service factor. Where the catalogue prints a power the gear cannot fully use (marked in the row note), choose by torque, not power.

Service factor — the number that decides how long your gearbox lives

It's the safety margin between what the gearbox can handle and what the drive asks of it: 1.0 means the gearbox works exactly at its rated limit; higher means reserve capacity — a cooler, quieter drive and a much longer life. As a guide: smooth, steady loads (light conveyors, centrifugal pumps) are fine near 1.0; moderate loads (heavier conveyors, packing machines) deserve 1.3 or more; heavy duty (mixers, bucket elevators, frequent starts, long running hours) should sit at 1.5–2.0.
